Put on a fresh pot of coffee - there’s a ton of interesting goings-on around the world of mental health this week!

“The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has been honored with a first-place Lilly Reintegration Award based on its advocacy on behalf of people with severe mental illnesses seeking to re-enter community life.” - Good for NAMI and all the work it does, though, given the bad taste Eli Lilly & Co. left in my mouth with Cymbalta, I don’t know how honored I’d feel.
NAMI is also in the news for asking that retailers refuse to sell the video game Rockstar’s Manhunt 2, and that the game be recalled and/or modified.
Stem Cells Can Improve Memory After Brain Injury - Regardless of your stance on stem cell research, anyone with a brain (haha, get it?) will be interested in knowing about the evidence of stem cells reversing memory loss.

Web-Based Stress Therapy Shows Promise for Vets - I’m on both sides of the fence with this one. While I value personal mental health treatment, I also recognize just how much a human being can do for himself. I’m sure I’ll revisit this one later this week. For now, let’s just be glad our soldiers are getting help.
