Two New Mental Health Web Sites And More!
This week’s Saturday Sanity has arrived, my lovelies. Go ahead - enlighten yourselves!
- Vanessa Figueroa, on behalf of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), was kind enough to let me know that Facing Us has been launched. From her email: “The Facing Us website was designed specifically to provide inspiration and support to those who suffer from depression and bipolar disorder. The façade of the site is designed as a house, which really speaks to our goal of providing a comfortable environment where online users can participate in interactive features such as developing a personal wellness plan, keeping a private online journal and sharing tips with others for maintaining good mental and physical health.”
- b5media received a press release earlier this week announcing the launch of ChangeNow4Health. I don’t know too much about the site as of right now, but I did find an interesting article I thought I’d pass along: The Power of Positive Psychology. It struck a note with me as there’s someone in my life I think it would benefit. I may write more on it later.
- Mental Health America sent around an email Friday focused on holiday shopping and the Omaha shooting. For some reason, I couldn’t find the article archived on the Web site, but I did find another source that had published it: In Wake of Omaha Shooting, Mental Health America Provides Tips to Holiday Shoppers to Ease Anxieties.
- Bipolar smokers beware: Chantix May Trigger Manic Episodes.
- And finally, lots of news this month about anorexia: Brain Patterns Of Former Anorexics Reveal Clues To Disorder’s Lasting Impact; Womb hormones ‘lead to anorexia’; Study: Biological tie seen in anorexia.
That’s all for this week’s Saturday Sanity! Remember, if you have any sanity-worthy pieces, send them my way!
